Steam Free Mirrors for Bathroom

There is a quick, easy and invisible solution to this problem. Install a mirror defogger and shave or apply make-up when you want to without worrying that your bathroom mirror will steam up at any moment! Demist your mirror and you can look at yourself in the mirror immediately after showering every time!

What is a Mirror defogger (mirror demister or mirror heater)?

A mirror defogger gently and safely heats the mirror just enough to prevent it from steaming up. Heat is reliably and evenly distributed across the surface of a heating pad which is hidden behind your mirror.

A mirror heater is a low powered, 230 volt self-adhesive heating pad. The slim pad simply adheres to the back of your bathroom mirror. Once fitted, the mirror will never steam up in and around the area of the pad. The mirror heating pad is resistant to moisture, vibration, shock, dust and ageing. Our demister pads are reliable and long-lasting and for your peace of mind they are guaranteed for 5 years!

Heater pads are simply stuck to the back of any standard or safety-backed mirror. The mirror is normally connected to the existing room lighting system or extraction fan circuit. Just turn on your fan or switch on your light and your demister pad automatically warms up to keep your mirror clear.

How long will it take to heat up a mirror?

A heater pad will usually heat it enough to prevent misting or clear existing mist within 2 to 3 minutes of being switched on.

How big a Heating Pad can I fit on my bathroom mirror?

You can heat almost the entire it or just enough area to view the facial area – it’s up to you. The heat pad should always be at least 100mm smaller in both width and height than the mirror to which it is applied. Heating pads are available in several different sizes. The heater pads cannot be cut or trimmed.

Anti Fog Mirrors for Mirrors Modern

Anti fog mirrors work by having a heating pad behind the mirrors, the pad is just one millimeter thick and works on standard 240 volt power. It is wired to the light switch – simply turn on your bathroom light and the mirror is warmed by the heating pad. The warmth means that condensation and steam cannot form on the mirror. The pads can be used on any size mirror.

The standard size for a mirror heating pad is 500mm x 600mm. If you have a large mirror, there is no need to resign yourself to having just one clear patch – you can use multiple pads to ensure that the whole mirror remains fog free.  Be aware, however, that if your existing mirror was installed using an adhesive like liquid nails rather than screws, you cannot retrofit the heating pad. You will have to install a new mirror.

The beauty of having anti fog mirrors mean that you will always have a clear mirror. As well, it stops the buildup of condensation and bacteria in crevices, which can cause health risks and mirror creep over time. Because you are not constantly rubbing your mirror clear, it will remain in pristine condition for a lot longer, with no scratches or streaks caused by hands, rings, or towels. Anti fog mirrors are cheaper than you might expect too. They cost less than $3 a year to run. For more information, please visit www.alldefoggers.com.
